What Is a Haul and Why Consolidate?
A haul is simply a consolidated shipment containing multiple items purchased together. Instead of paying domestic shipping for each item separately and then international shipping for each package, you combine everything into one efficient shipment. The savings are substantial - a 5kg single package costs significantly less per kilogram than five 1kg packages.
Planning Your First Haul: A Timeline
Research and Selection
Browse the Hipobuy Spreadsheet, check our guides, and build a wishlist. Aim for 3-6 items for your first haul.
Order Submission
Submit all links to Hipobuy within a few days of each other. This ensures items arrive at the warehouse around the same time.
QC and Approval
Review QC photos as items arrive. GL or RL each item. Wait for all items to clear QC before shipping.
Shipping and Tracking
Choose your shipping line, pay international shipping fees, and receive tracking information.
Delivery
Track your package, prepare for delivery, and enjoy your new finds. Total timeline: 3-7 weeks.
Item Selection Strategy
The ideal first haul mixes categories to maximize value. Include one pair of sneakers, 2-3 clothing items, and one accessory. This gives you experience with different product types, shipping weights, and QC requirements. Avoid filling a haul entirely with heavy items like multiple pairs of sneakers - shipping costs scale poorly with weight.
Shipping Line Selection by Haul Size
| Haul Weight | Recommended Line | Estimated Cost |
|---|---|---|
| 1-2kg (1-2 items) | EMS or ePacket | $25-40 |
| 3-5kg (3-5 items) | EMS or DHL | $45-70 |
| 5-8kg (5-8 items) | DHL or Triangle EU | $70-100 |
| 8kg+ (large haul) | SEA Mail or Split | $80-120 |
Money-Saving Haul Tips
- Remove all shoe boxes - Saves 200-400g per pair
- Request vacuum sealing - Reduces clothing volume by 30-50%
- Ship during off-peak times - January and September typically have lower shipping rates
- Split large hauls - Two 4kg packages often cost less than one 8kg due to rate brackets
What to Expect at Delivery
When your haul arrives, inspect the outer packaging before opening. If the box is damaged, photograph it for potential claims. Open carefully, check each item against your order list, and try everything on immediately. If any item is wrong, contact your agent within their claim window.
